A few photographs in the brief sunny periods between the wind and rain over the weekend... Oystercatcher at Saltcoats, Knot at Barassie, Eider at Troon, Rook at Saltcoats, Great Black-backed Gull at Troon, and Wigeon at Irvine.
Kay Park pond in Kilmarnock still had at least three Goosanders over the weekend and my first record of Goldeneye there.
Last weekend I went home to Ayrshire. My dad picked me up off the overnight bus on Saturday morming and we headed to Hogganfield Loch just a few miles from the centre of Glasgow. Spent a couple of hours here photographing Goosanders and Whooper Swans in what was the only decent weather of the weekend.
Managed some reasonable Jay shots in Kensington Gardens today despite many uncontrollable dogs rampaging through the Leafyard. I guess they were getting tired of mauling the swans and thought Jays were better sport. A Grey Squirrel climbed up my Gitzo tripod, though funnier still was the man who allowed a Brown Rat to climb up his leg for some food. Looked for the adult Med Gull at the Round Pond (different bird from last winter) but difficult amongst several hundred Black-headed Gulls.
