Here is the final set of photographs I'll post from Bosque del Apache. All these were taken full frame in the vertical/portrait format. The birds in flight were taken in Al Servo mode with the top zone manually selected in the 7D.
Your pictures are exquisite, I have really enjoyed watching them. Can I just ask if the background blur in your bird pictures is As Shot or have you used some plugin during PP to make it extra smooth :-). Wonderful blog, please keep posting. thanks
Thanks vikram. Using f4 at 500mm, or f5.6 at 700mm combined with 100/200 ISO keeps them smooth and noise free. I occasionally reduce the clarity of the RAW file if appropriate for the effect I want.
